Fox Hills Park, Culver City, CA March 2002-January 2003, "Saturday Bootcamp" that utilizes all areas of the park from the stairs for warming up the legs to the picnic table for step ups and tricep dips. Along with lunges across the basketball court and oh let's not forget the volleyball area, great for side lunges along with jump squats. Abdominals are never neglected because Gwen brings in the mats. Did I mention all of the above exercises require the use of free weights (12lbs & 15lbs). It is a non-stop workout. You can workout and have fun! However, her type of training is for the serious minded, you need to be focused and tap into your zone. I believe in the three C's 1. Committment, 2. Consistency and 3. Courage. |

Lunges are executed with one leg directly in front of the other as well as alternating legs and even addeing some dumbells for the serious and advanced individuals. Please note to keep body fat at a low, always incorporate some form of cardiovascular exercicse into you fitness regimen. I.e., running, biking, etc. |

May 1, 2004 I am writing this letter in regards of my personal trainer, Gwen Bolden. I have been training with her for roughly two months, and have experienced incredible results. When I was 19 yeras old, I moved to New York and recorded an album with my former group. I was happy with my size then, but when my group dis-baned, I gained an enormous amount of weight. The media has always held aspriing singers hostage if they do not parallel the images depicted on the screen, so I decided to become a songwriter immediately following the demise of my group. I am 31 years old now, and just completed my first CD(Atlantic Records) and for the first time, I feel that my goal is attainable. Gwen is relentless, and puts her body where her mouth is. She often works out along side of me, and always encourages me every push, pull, lift an step of the way. The menu that she created specifically for me makes eating out and cooking for my family easy and delicious. In two months, I have lost approximately 16 pounds, several inches and I have gained will power, and confidence. Her words are empowering and her body is a daily reminder of the endless possibilities that await me. I highly recommend Gwen Bolden for anyone who is dedicated to self-improvement, weight loss or renewal, bodybuilding and as an added bonus, she offers daily doses of inspiration. July 2, 2002 In November, 2001 my wife and I began training with Gwen Bolden. At the time I weighed 180lbs with about 15-20lbs at my waist. My wife's weight I did not know, but her dress sizes were getting larger. My waist increased from 31" to 33" inces from the year before and was growing larger. I began buying larger size pants in the waist. We began with Gwen and followed her 90-day food plan of protein (meat/fish), vegetables and training with her 3 days a week. Within 90 days we lost inches from our waist, I lost 3 inches and my wife Chiyo, was suprised when she went to buy a dress and she selected a dress the size she fit into when first dated six years earlier. I am 44 years oly and my wife is 32 years old. We began training for two reasons (1) health (2) fitnessa nd to keep our wieght and fat to the proper proportion for our body. But most important is the mental strength and relase of stress Gwen's workout provides. We could not do it by ourselves, for in the past, when we tried by joining Bally's wanting other physically fit people's image fall onto me. We'd often stop working out with weights after 3 different exercises. But with Gwen you do at least 8 different exercises within 45 minutes and it includes at least 300 repetitions of abdominal strenght training each day. My arms, stomach and legs have developed definition and Chiyo's (wife) shape is back. It really helps to have my wife involved because no matter what she always attends. at first I thought I'd train for only 6 months and go on my own exercising. But now, my conversation is for us to have a long-term relationship with Gwen. An important thing I discovered about training with Gwen is that she is different from most trainers. Gwen cares about the results your body gets, she is not satisfied unless she sees results in you physically and mentally. She is a spirtitual person so her concerns are deeper that that of most trainers. I thank God for brining her into our life. Michael Anderson, Chiyo Matsushita. |

Write up on "Body by Gwen" Issue 1, 2003 Just one look at Gwen Bolden and you would think she could be a model, an athlete, an actress or artist, or even a motivational speaker, simply because of her energy and character are even more attractive than the unbelievable shape she's in. And I know you're gonna do a double take at her when I mention this women is 38 years old. One look at her physique and you would swear she was younger than she is. Even further Gwen is more than an average trainer who just whips her client's bodies into shape. She devotes time to prepare them mentally as well. |
